There are many messaging apps available, but let’s compare two of the most popular ones: Telegram and WhatsApp. Both apps allow users to communicate with each other in real time, but they have different features that may appeal to different types of users. Telegram is a cloud-based app that offers more features and flexibility than WhatsApp, while WhatsApp is more user-friendly and simpler to use. Here is a more detailed look at each app:
Telegram:
- Offers more features and flexibility than WhatsApp
- Can be used for personal or business purposes
WhatsApp:
- More user-friendly and simpler to use
- Uses end-to-end encryption for security
- Popular among a wider range of age groups
Today, there are many messaging apps to choose from. Two of the most popular are WhatsApp and Telegram. They each have their own benefits and drawbacks as well as strengths and weaknesses. In this article, we’re going to take a closer look into what they offer in different areas and also highlight some of the things they have in common. I’m Jack Ricle from the Telegram Adviser team and I want to talk about the benefits of Telegram and WhatsApp Messengers.
1. Expressions
Texting is more fun when you can use expressions to communicate your feelings. That’s why Telegram and Whatsapp have introduced stickers as a way to add more emotion to your messages. Stickers offer a bigger range of emotions than traditional emojis, and they’re becoming more popular all the time. WhatsApp has even started offering stickers, after seeing how successful they’ve been on Telegram.
2. Group chat
There are several features that both טלגראס הזמנה and WhatsApp have in common, but the number of users that each platform can accommodate in a group chat is telling.
Telegram can hold up to 100,000 users in a group chat, whereas WhatsApp is limited to only 256 members.
Not only that, but Telegram also has features such as voting and channels that WhatsApp doesn’t offer.
A channel is a feed that allows only certain people to post while others present in the group chat can just read. This is an excellent feature to have when trying to avoid spam messages in the group.
3. Encryption
WhatsApp is known for its end-to-end encryption, which is a feature that scrambles text so that it can only be read by the person on the receiving end. This is useful if someone manages to intercept a message, but they won’t be able to read it because it will just appear as a jumble of characters. Telegram also has this feature, but it’s only available for its secret chat feature.
4. File Sharing
WhatsApp has a maximum size limit of 16 MB for files, while Telegram allows up to 1.5 GB. This makes Telegram a better option for sending large files.
In addition, Telegram saves files to the cloud, so you can send them to multiple contacts without having to upload them each time. If you’ve already sent a file to one person in your contacts, you can just send it again from the cloud.
5. Voice and Video Call
WhatsApp currently has an advantage over Telegram because it offers both voice and video calling – just like Skype. This is a key specification that sets WhatsApp apart. Telegram would do well to follow suit in offering this feature to users.
6. Cloud Storage
Telegram’s use of cloud storage allows for images, messages, videos, and documents to be saved and backed up automatically. This makes it easy to retrieve lost files. WhatsApp also has a backup feature, but it is limited in storage compared to Telegram.
8. Language
Telegram offers users the ability to select a different language for use in the app other than the language their phone is set to.
This feature covers several languages, including German, Spanish, English, Arabic, Japanese, Italian, and Portuguese.
WhatsApp doesn’t support this feature, which is one of its shortcomings that I hope they will remedy soon. In the meantime, Telegram is my go-to app for chatting with friends in different languages.
