Need a Faster mobile phone? The Redmi K20 Pro should top your list.
The Redmi K20 Pro is one of the best smartphone deals on smartphones right now. The Redmi K20 Pro is a fantastic entry for Redmi into the affordable flagship market, with spectacular efficiency and outstanding architecture. I will review the Redmi K20 Pro Smartphone in this article.
The previous year Xiaomi split Redmi into a separate brand. What had previously worked alongside the more expensive Mi devices as a line of affordable smartphones would now position itself at any price as an independent brand with phones.
The first flagship to emerge from this change is the Redmi K20 Pro. The K20 Pro arrives at a time when the mid-range segment is heating up in the market. Could the Redmi K20 Pro with its lowest price point and feature-rich software update outperform the competition? Let’s find out about that in the Redmi K20 Pro review.
What is inside Redmi K20 Pro packaging?
In terms of the contents of the box, Xiaomi was rather generous. Indeed, in addition to the usual accessories, (a charging block, a USB cable and a manual) the brand decided to offer a protective shell. This is nice of them, since we can, therefore, save it.
Redmi K20 Pro Smartphone design
The Redmi K20 Pro sports a rather fanciful, but successful design in our opinion. As you can see, we decided to test it in red, but it also exists in blue and black.
On the back, we find 3 photosensors (we will come back to this later), a double flash, as well as the writing “REDMI – Designed By Xiaomi”
On the front, the screen occupies almost 92% of the surface. In order to obtain this excellent screen/size ratio, Redmi decided to use a Pop-Up camera. This means that the camera only comes out of the frame when we need it.
Performance
Our experience is supported by synthetic benchmarks, and the phone performs extremely well. The Redmi K20 Pro managed to hit 372,688 points in the CPU-centric AnTuTu benchmark.
The smartphone does not reach 400,000 on Antutu Benchmark. But its score of 372,688 places. Don’t worry, the K20 Pro is only 1000 points behind!
For those who do not know Antutu Benchmark, this is simply an application that allows you to measure the power of your smartphone. The higher the score, the more efficient the device. Here, the Redmi K20 Pro notably outperforms the Samsung Galaxy S10 (358726) and the iPhone XS (344296).
Without any surprises, the Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro can run any game without a bug. You will, therefore, be able to enjoy the gameplays of your favorite games in the best quality, without any freeze or latency.
Its excellent performance is due to its powerful processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. This brand new processor which is clocked at 2.2GHz is supported by an Adreon 640 GPU, very efficient for gaming. In addition to all this, the smartphone has 6 or 8 GB of RAM, which allows you to perform multitasking actions without worries.
In addition to its beauty and excellent performance, the Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro has another excellent asset: its battery. Indeed, with its 4000mAh of capacity, it allows operating the smartphone for almost 2 days during conventional use.
Regarding the charge, this battery can recharge to 100% in just 74 minutes (1h14 min). In 30 minutes, our smartphone went from 0 to 56%. You understood, your Redmi K20 Pro will not have a battery problem!
The K20 Pro supports 27W quick charging, but there is a problem: it doesn’t have the fast charging adapter in the pack. You ‘re going to have to pay an extra fee for it. You should expect to complete the phone in about 87 minutes with the provided 18-watt charger.
Picture quality
Once again, Xiaomi bet heavily on photography. Indeed, the smartphone has 3 photosensors:
- A 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor
- 13MP wide-angle sensor
- 8MP telephoto sensor
The Sony IMX586 is the most used in photographs: the others are mainly used to improve focus and blur the background. Another good thing to know: the smartphone is capable of taking pictures in 2X Zoom without loss picture quality.
On the side of the front camera (Pop-Up), the quality is very good and the blurring of the background works very well. Every detail is captured thanks to its definition of 20MP.
The phone does a decent job to capture video, too. It doesn’t produce the most detailed images, but even at 4K 60fps, which is definitely a useful feature, electronic image stabilization works. Additionally, in this price range or higher, the phone can use the ultra-wide camera to capture 4K, 60fps of video-something almost no other phone does.
Audio
The Redmi K20 Pro has a headphone jack on it. The headphone jack audio output is neutral in terms of sound. The box does not include the headphones.
The single speaker on the bottom edge gets louder but is not compatible with stereo speakers from the OnePlus 7. It’s going to work in a pinch but if you want to play your noisy media, I would recommend a good Bluetooth speaker.
Redmi K20 Pro Review: The screen
If you are looking for a small smartphone, the Redmi K20 Pro is unfortunately not for you. Indeed, its 6.39″ screen will not suit everyone, even if it easily fits in a pocket thanks to the absence of borders.
This 6.39-inch screen is beautiful. Made by Samsung, it displays very beautiful colours and it is immersive. Its FullHD+ resolution (2160 * 1080 pixels) in 19.5/9 format allows for a sharp and very precise display.
Another interesting point, the fingerprint sensor is located under the screen. According to Redmi, this is the 7th generation of this type of fingerprint sensor. However, we do not observe a difference with that of the Mi 9 (even if it is already very fast).
Redmi k20 pro price
- Redmi K20 Pro: 6GB RAM, 128GB ROM – ₹24,999
- Redmi K20 Pro: 8GB RAM, 256GB ROM – ₹26,999
This is an exciting time for customers. Never before have there been so many choices at less than half the cost of a luxury flagship phone with cutting-edge hardware. Many compromises were made to hit the price point, but the Redmi K20 Pro reflects the pinnacle of Xiaomi ‘s engineering.
When Xiaomi needs to start entering the premium segment, the K20 Pro arrives and can’t afford to repeat the mistakes it made with previous Mi phones. This is in line with the ethos of Xiaomi providing the highest value for your money.
Redmi K20 Pro review: the verdict
The Redmi K20 Pro is Xiaomi that flexes its muscles to demonstrate its capabilities. The firm which began the movement in the value segment is now expected to transform the affordable flagship segment. The goal now is to shift the view on the industry that Xiaomi is merely an inexpensive player in the smartphone sector.
The Redmi K20 Pro is a top-rated smartphone at a decent price. When you’re on the lookout for an inexpensive flagship, the Redmi K20 Pro should be rated high on your list of smartphones.
